Corneliu Ionescu was born in Pitesti on February 20th, 1956. He attended the Institute of Fine Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" from Bucharest in 1980 at the class of the painter Gheorghe Saru. Between 1991 and 1995 he was teacher at the Academy "Atheneum" in Bucharest.
