Nicolae Hilohi was born on July 26th, 1930 in village Racauti, Bacau district. Graduate of the Fine Arts Institute "Nicolae Grigorescu" from Bucharest in 1956 at the class of the professors Gheorghe Ivancenco, Jules Perahim and Vasile Kazar. Between 1960 and 1982 he was professor at the Fine Arts Institute "Nicolae Grigorescu" from Bucharest. At the proposal of professor Ionel Jianu, he was named department editor at "Meridiane" Publishig House (1960-1966). Since 1957 he become member of the Fine Arts Union of Bucharest. He painted 13000 s.m. of fresco - in 13 churches.
